Studio 122ONE

Studio 122One was created late one night after midnight (but before 1:00 a.m.). Owners Lee Slusarek of Northwest Athletic Club in Springdale and Eric Huber, get together regularly to create t-shirt designs, posters, and other graphics for non-profit organizations. These designs are strictly donations or at cost for the t-shirts.

Special Olympics Arkansas is one of the organizations Studio 122One supports. Some samples are below.

Elemental Photography

I might be a bit biased when it comes to Elemental Photography. You see, I’ve known one of the owners my whole life. And the the primary photographer…well…I introduced her to him. But just because I’ve known them both for so long doesn’t diminish her, ever-growing, award winning photography skills.

Aimee Huber has an amazing artistic eye that verges on photojournalism, but with more feeling. She tends to capture feelings more than just images. From pregnancy photographs, to birth, to childhood, to graduation, marriage and yearly photos, the images captured by Elemental Photography are truly amazing.

I had the honor of working on their logo, identity and website. It was a lot of fun. The design process included all of the elements, but in the end we all felt that the ever burning flame that is within us all driving us in our own gifts, such as photography or graphic design, was the best element for the logo.

“From our logo, to our promotional materials, to our website, Mighty Creative manages to allow our photography stand out and still connect our brand, identity and personality to everything.”

Unity of Fayetteville Logo

No Comments 02 December 2009

Sometimes you get to do really fun design work. Redesigning the Unity of Fayetteville logo was interesting as the long time members had some identity with the dove image, while the home office in Kansas City had already brought the church name into a modern design. I managed to use the same typeface as Unity Village in KC, and added a simple image of the dove. In full color, the dove can be white with a shadow cast. In black and white, the image still stands up even when reduced.
